Liver Detoxification Program

When undertaking a liver detoxification program, you will find it is much more effective when guided by a professional who can motivate you and focus on your overall health needs. A liver detox can be undertaken at any time, although spring can be one of the best times to give both your health and your home a good clean up.

Michelle can tailor a 1, 2 or 3 week detox program for you, giving you:

  • a list of foods you can and can’t eat
  • a daily menu program to follow
  • and a detailed shopping list to make it easier for you

Michelle will also recommend supplements for you to take that can enhance the benefits of your program, such as herbs and nutrients to support your liver to detox effectively, vitamins and minerals that can help your body to better remove toxins, and remedies that may be specific to your health issues, for example stress, low energy, sugar cravings, sleep issues, or poor digestion.

If you have been feeling sluggish, tired, grumpy, or foggy in the head, then a detox could be just the thing to help give you back the bounce in your step.

(see our Fees page for the cost of a 2-week detox).

Why Detox?

One of the liver’s most important functions is to “detoxify” the blood. The liver receives blood from the intestine which is full of nutrients, but also toxins and other chemicals that the liver needs to clean up before they enter the body’s circulation. In patients with very poor liver function, the liver may not be able to clean up the blood.

Ammonia, which is a byproduct of protein metabolism, and other chemicals, may build up, resulting in symptoms of confusion and changes in mental state.

In less severe cases, a sluggish liver can result in fatigue, blurred vision, difficulty concentrating, bloating, constipation and anxiety or feeling easily frustrated and angry.
